Rabbit Island
2020.6.1
This shrine, known affectionately by locals as "Udo-san", is a beautiful shrine facing the Hyuga-nada Sea, built on the Udo cape. Inside the cave there is a vermillion-lacquered inner sanctuary, as well as "Reiseki Kameishi," where visitors throw "undama" good luck balls onto a special rock (men throw with their left hand, and women with their right) in order to have their wishes granted. Also worth seeing is the "Udo Senjojiki Kigan," a unique rock formation formed by wave and wind erosion. Enjoy the beautiful natural sites and tranquil atmosphere of this shrine on the Nichinan coastline.
