Fans of Japanese sake will not want to miss the Sake Festival, held in the small town of Saijo, just outside Hiroshima. Saijo is home to some of Japan’s oldest and most prestigious sake brewers, and the festival gives visitors the chance to sample some of the finest sake in Japan. In addition to live music, brewery tours and parades, sake aficionados can sample more than 900 types of sake during the two-day event. One of the most popular events of the festival is Sake Square, which, for a 1800 yen cover charge, gets you a small souvenir sake cup and the opportunity to sample as much sake as you want throughout the day.
