Whirlpool Sightseeing Boats
– Marvel at the world’s largest whirlpools –

The Naruto Strait is located between the Naruto region of Tokushima Prefecture and Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, a channel that separates two of the main islands of Japan, Honshu and Shikoku. It also serves as one of the connections between the Pacific Ocean and the Seto Inland Sea. Due to the narrowness of the strait, the two currents collide at an accelerated rate, creating massive natural whirlpools the sight of which must be seen to be believed.
Here, you can hop on a boat and witness this spectacular natural phenomenon up close.
Board one of two types of excursion boats, and you’ll be taken to a spot where the whirlpools of the Naruto Strait swirl and swish right before your eyes. There are two options available—one being the Wonder Naruto, a large sightseeing boat that does not require reservations and can go very close to the massive whirlpools, even passing above them. More adventurous types can opt for the Aqua Eddy, a small high-speed, reservation-only boat offering spectacular underwater observation views.
Hop on board, pass under the Great Naruto Bridge, and enjoy one of Tokushima’s true natural wonders.
